Industrial operator · founder

Industrial experience.
Built into action.

I’m David Schweickart, an industrial operator and the founder of Schweickart LLC. My work spans industrial commercial leadership, technology, venture building, public questions, and creative projects. This is the operating record and the map.

Now

The work in front of me.

I keep several futures open, but I do not pretend they are all at the same stage. These are the projects receiving real attention now.

Work & technology

Make complexity usable.

My useful range is the space between a strategy deck and what people actually have to do on Monday morning.

01 / COMMERCIAL

Revenue and account systems

Key-account structure, stakeholder alignment, pricing posture, dispute recovery, forecasting, and commitments that survive the meeting.

02 / OPERATING

Execution across functions

Sales, operations, supply chain, finance, and customer teams working from the same facts, decision rights, and cadence.

03 / TECHNOLOGY

Tools that fit the work

CRM workflows, reporting, automation, and an evidence-first operating system linking notes, media, contacts, projects, and follow-through.

Complex revenue recoveryMoved disputed receivables from noise into accountable action and resolution.
Delivery stabilizationHelped move a failing customer-delivery position to reliable on-time performance.
CRM built around field realityDesigned HubSpot and Salesforce workflows, reporting, and training people could actually use.
Fleet operating-model changeSupported the shift to automated side-loaders and generated more than $1 million in first-year growth.

Public life

Questions worth staying with.

I care about how institutions, industrial capacity, incentives, technology, and law shape everyday economic life. The current posture is research, documentation, and participation—not a campaign page.

Industry

Domestic capability

Localizing supply chains means rebuilding the relationships, fabrication capacity, component support, and know-how needed to make and maintain real things.

Markets

Competition & concentration

How acquisitions, incentives, and power affect customers, workers, suppliers, and local communities.

Technology

AI literacy & access

How ordinary people and small organizations can use advanced tools without surrendering judgment or privacy.

Community

Stability & participation

Practical systems that help families and communities contribute, adapt, and retain agency.

Art & media

Not everything needs to be useful.

Story, image, sound, games, and archival work make room for things that cannot be reduced to a business case. Schweickart Media is the production home.

STORY

Industry from the inside

Documentary and first-person work about manufacturing, equipment, supply chains, and the people inside them.

ARCHIVE

Memory with structure

Family history, photographs, recordings, and everyday artifacts preserved with context—not flattened into a content feed.

PLAY

Creative experiments

Writing, games, interactive ideas, cooking, home projects, and other work that earns a public form over time.

Private messages and family material remain private. Public work is selected and reviewed before publication.

Operating principles

A few things hold.

Stay close to the work.

The best strategy changes when it meets a customer, a factory, a yard, or a real constraint.

Make the system legible.

People act better when ownership, evidence, tradeoffs, and next commitments are visible.

Build evidence before scale.

Big language is cheap. A working route, an actual order, and a completed delivery carry more weight.

Protect people and trust.

Confidential work stays confidential. Private life does not become public material by default.
